Sewing 101 at Seattle Makers
I had been thinking about teaching classes for a few years and finally launched my first class in February 2020. It was a success! Then bam pandemic. Yada yada I've moved across the country, created a new class and have begun teaching Sewing 101 at Seattle Makers.
In Sewing 101, I teach students everything they need to know to start sewing projects themselves. We cover the parts of a sewing machine, threading the machine, winding bobbins, and basic stitches. Then you make a small project to flex those budding sewing muscles. Stay tuned for more advanced classes.
In light of the pandemic, class size is set at 3 people. Each student is equipped with their own set of tools at separate tables. Face masks are mandatory (anywhere on Seattle Makers' turf) and provide an abundance of hand sanitizer. Read more about how Seattle Makers is warding off covid here.
Sharing skills and being helpful are a couple of my favorite things to do, so I'm stoked about teaching this class. Currently, Sewing 101 is held every other Thursday, 5:30pm - 8pm at Seattle Makers. Book your spot ahead of time!
If there's a class you'd like to see in the world, let me know.
